Common Questions

We accept most major dental insurance plans, including Delta Dental, MetLife, Cigna, Aetna, United Healthcare Dental, BlueCross BlueShield, and Guardian. Our team will verify your benefits before your appointment and help you maximize your coverage. If we're out of network with your plan, we can still file claims on your behalf. Don't have insurance? Ask about our Lakeview Membership Plan for uninsured patients.

Your first visit takes about 90 minutes and includes a full set of digital X-rays, a comprehensive exam, an oral cancer screening, and a professional cleaning (when appropriate). We'll discuss your dental history, listen to your concerns, and create a personalized treatment plan together. We send new patient paperwork by email so you can complete it before you arrive.

Dental anxiety is incredibly common, and we take it seriously. We offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for mild anxiety, oral sedation for moderate anxiety, and IV sedation for more complex procedures or severe dental phobia. Our team is trained in gentle techniques, and we go at your pace. You're always in control — just raise your hand if you need a break.

In-office Zoom whitening results typically last 1-3 years, depending on your diet and habits. Coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco can cause staining to return more quickly. We provide a custom take-home touch-up kit with your whitening treatment so you can maintain your results at home. Most patients do a quick touch-up every 6-12 months.

Most adult Invisalign treatments at our office take 12-18 months, though minor cases can be completed in as few as 6 months. Treatment length depends on the complexity of your case. During your free consultation, Dr. Chen will give you a personalized timeline after reviewing your 3D scan. You'll wear each set of aligners for about two weeks before switching to the next set.

Call us immediately at (704) 555-0183. We reserve same-day appointment slots for emergencies and can usually see you within a few hours. If a tooth has been knocked out, keep it moist (in milk or back in the socket if possible) and get to our office within 30 minutes for the best chance of reimplantation. For after-hours emergencies, call our main number and follow the emergency prompts — Dr. Mitchell monitors after-hours calls.
